stuff 'n stuff
Jul. 22nd, 2006 08:55 pmIn the last couple of days I've received cards from
tiniowien and
alliwantisanelf &
puterpatty. Thanks, ladies! *hugs* I hope you all are enjoying your trips. :D
I've been productive today, although probably not in the way I'd planned. I wanted to spend most of the day writing but my brain hasn't been cooperating. So instead while I've been doing other things, I've also been watching dvds of the first season of Battlestar Gallactica. I'm enjoying it, but only once I quit comparing it to the original (Starbuck's a girl?!?) which was remarkable if for nothing else than Dirk Benedict as Starbuck. ;)
I went to see Clerks II yesterday (before the electrical storm from hell). Kevin Smith's humor isn't for everyone, but if you liked the first Clerks, you should like the second.
ETA: I love reading Jennifer Cruise's blog. She doesn't post often, but most of what she does post makes me laugh. Hell, she even makes me laugh about Ann Coulter (check out her June 18th entry) and that's saying something. *g*

Date: 2006-07-23 04:20 pm (UTC)I too watched the original and was dismayed by the replacement of a really hot male character by a woman. But then Kara is pretty hot too. So, yeah, you do have to quit comparing it to the original. The production values on this one are so much better, the plots so much more intricate, the characters more human...or not.
The thing about the new BSG is that I so prefer fanon to slash. Kara and Lee are just hot. I don't know if you read het, but there are some good stories out there. One in particular that you should read whether you like het or not. It's an amazing example of great fan writing.

You have a link? I don't mind reading het. :)

Date: 2006-07-27 06:16 am (UTC)And the whole premise. Having done the whole infertility thing, I just loved how someone could have fun with sperm donation. And the fact that it was so incredibly hot even though one of the characters never removes their clothes. And Apollo's hands on her wrists, touching her through her own hands. So very sexy.
