I always seem to come up with this result, no matter what form the test takes. This most recent form I took from [livejournal.com profile] carynita's lj. Guess this really is me. ;)

You Are An INFP

The Idealist

You are creative with a great imagination, living in your own inner world.
Open minded and accepting, you strive for harmony in your important relationships.
It takes a long time for people to get to know you. You are hesitant to let people get close.
But once you care for someone, you do everything you can to help them grow and develop.

You would make an excellent writer, psychologist, or artist.

infp for me as well. i always get that result tooo... and everytime i take the test i think, wow, this time it HAS to come out differently (it seems like the answers i pick are so far from what an "artist" would think)... but there it is. :) there's a comfort in consistency.

I know! Isn't it weird? And some of the answers I gave seemed so inconsistent too. Guess I am what I am, so says popeye the sailor man. ;)

Well it's certainly a nice result. I don't know you well enough to say whether the "strive for harmony" and "You are hesitant to let people get close." bits are correct.

I don't think it's a bad thing to develop friendships slowly though - I tend to think close, lasting friendships are like that, with layers being revealed and trust building over time. Or at least they have been in my case.

Oh, they're fairly accurate too. I'll bend over backward when I can to avoid conflict or to try to smooth out problems between friends. And the "hesitant to let people get close" is more from being somewhat shy in social situations where I'm more comfortable listening than talking, especially about myself. My close friendships, the ones that really last, have been built over time, most definitely.

I'm laughing because it's difficult to picture you as shy. Or as bending over backwards to avoid conflict. On LJ, you are often the one who points out the problems and refuses to let others sweep them under the rug. Although that is a way of helping others and, in the end, resolving conflicts, so I guess it does jive.

In any event, I'm glad to have gotten to know you.

Ah, but you didn't know me back in the days when all I used to do was lurk. ;) I feel comfortable here now, with friends I've gotten to know over a period of time, so I'm more inclined to speak up than I used to be. When I do, it's not on behalf of myself; usually it's when I'm dealing with something that's hurt friends I care about. But put me in a room with a lot of people I don't know? That's a different story entirely. I'll stand quietly off to the side and just listen. At least when I can get away with it, that is. *g*

And I'm glad I've gotten to know you too. We have the most interesting conversations. :D

You were a lurker?! Hee! I lurked for years until Stewie's stuff started getting plagiarized and she locked it. That was worth coming out of the woodwork for. But I still didn't comment to all that many people. You were probably one of the first people I began commenting to outside of the BHD fandom.

Somewhat surprisingly, I'm not all that shy at parties. Probably because I've realized that everyone else is just as uncomfortable - except the extreme extroverts. And because I'm endlessly curious.

And we do have interesting conversations. I suspect that we are similar in many ways. Perhaps I need to do this personality quiz thing...

Yeah, when I first got in Viggorli fandom, back on the old Yahoo group lists, I hardly ever said anything. I didn't start getting more talkative until I started posting my own stories.

I can do the social party thing if I have to, but it's almost like it's not quite *me* but a more social version of me. When I do have to be social, I tend to turn the conversation around so the other person's talking more than I am. I way more of a listener than a talker. Which is probably a good thing, since hubby (and all the men in his family, for that matter) are definitely talkers. :P

ESTJ?!

The Guardian

You're a natural leader and quick, logical decision maker.
Goals are important in your life, and you take many steps to acheive them.
You enjoy interacting with others, mostly through work related activities.
Your high energy level means you are great at getting things done!

You would make a great teacher, judge, or police detective.

Hello?! Because I really wanted to check both boxes on many of those questions and I'll bet I could perfectly honestly make it come out totally differently.

Wow, that was a surprising result. But I know what you mean about the questions -- on a lot of them, neither response was accurate for me, so I was guessing what I'd do most of the time, and some of the answers seemed to contradict other answers I'd already given. That's why I was surprised I got the same result I always do. :P

Ok, so under the question "Attorney or Teacher", I wrinkled my nose and chose "Attorney" and it tells me I'd make a great teacher?!

And: You enjoy interacting with others, mostly through work related activities.

I do, in fact, enjoy interacting with others, but mostly through social or volunteer activities...

I'll have to do it again and select the other answer on all the ones where I could have selected either - bet that'll change things!

I always get INFP, so I was shocked this time! When I took the official MB inventory I was INFP, although I was midrange for all but my N (intuitive) where I was pure intuition.

I don't think I've ever taken the official MB inventory, just all these various memes, and the results are always the same. Very weird.

And what are you doing up at this time of the night? *glances at clock* Err... nevermind. *scurries off to bed* ;)

I fell asleep at 6 pm yesterday, woke up at 11, went back to sleep at 1 am, woke back up at 5 am...mostly its because allergies are SO bad right now I have to take benadryl on top of my prescription Zyrtec and I am taking painkillers for the ToM backache and headahces and so, yeah....drug induced coma more or less. :P

Oh man... I'm sorry allergies are kicking your butt. *hugs* It's smokey here again -- from the California fires, can you believe it? But yeah, allergies haven't been fun here either. :/ *hugs*

The creative and open minded parts certainly fit with how I see you from what I've read.
I'm ISTJ again. Serious and organised which is sort of true. I just don't have the creative gene.

The "living in your own inner world" part is most definitely me. :P I'm not always sure that's a *good* thing, but yeah, there it is. Terry Brooks devotes a whole chapter in his book Lessons From a Writing Life to the fact that writers are not all here because we spend so much of our time 'over there' in whatever world we're writing about. Not that I mind because, you know, Viggo and Orlando live in that other world. ;)

Yes, I'm weird.

I wish I could be more organized though. That would be cool. Then my desk probably wouldn't be covered in piles of books and papers and files. :P

I admit I envy you that inner world, especially with Viggo and Orlando there. I try to create one but can't stop applying the real world to it.

There is one easy way to organise, its called piles. I'm very good at creating piles of paper on my desk. One for each subject, just not in any particular order (giving me the allusion I'm being a bit chaotic). The only problem with this is if you are a hoarder (like me) the piles get a bit big from time to time.
